Air Force Research Laboratory Awards Architecture Technology Corporation (ATCorp) SBIR Phase III Contract
March 18, 2009, Ithaca, NY. The Air Force Research Laboratory has awarded ATCorp a multi-year contract to provide research, development, enhancement and transitioning of critical SBIR technologies to support a secure data sharing environment with multi-level security across multiple organizations.
The mission of the Cross Domain Innovation & Science (CDIS) Group at the Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL) is twofold: to expand research partnering to accelerate R&D progress and deepen impact to cross domain goals; and to expand prototyping, experimentation, and transition across the spectrum of cross domain systems and technologies. To support this mission, AFRL awarded ATCorp an Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ), Small Business Innovative Research (SBIR) Phase III contract.
The effort, entitled Cross-Shares: Secure Sharing Across Domain Boundaries, will provide a technology transition contract vehicle to support the development of common plans, R&D activities, experimentation, demonstrations, and program management activities leading to the transition of secure data sharing technology to the warfighter. ATCorp leads the Cross-Shares team, which includes both large and small companies.
Cross-Shares is the second Phase III IDIQ contract awarded to ATCorp in the last year; the first, entitled IMPRESS (Information Management PRoduct Engineering Strategies and Solutions), was awarded in April 2008. Since that time, ATCorp and its team members have successfully completed a number of tasks through IMPRESS, and are receiving positive feedback from customers on several other tasks in progress.
