EQuIP—End-to-End QoS IP techniques for heterogeneous networks

Architecture Technology Corporation (ATC) is developing techniques that provide security and end-to-end QoS to multimedia flows and mission critical data traversing heterogeneous networks. These techniques are collectively called End-to-End QoS IP Techniques for Heterogeneous Networks (EQuIP). The major advantage of EQuIP is that it utilizes existing networks' infrastructures and protocols to achieve mobility, security and end-to-end QoS provisioning for multimedia flows traversing heterogeneous environments. As a result, EQuIP will not require modification to existing networks and can be easily incorporated within current military and commercial networks.

The end product of this effort will be a scalable and robust system for providing security and end-to-end QoS provisioning for multimedia flows traversing heterogeneous networks. The system will enable the efficient utilization of heterogeneous links to provide communication of data relating to such activities such as command and control, situation awareness and collaborative planning.

The same system will be extremely valuable in support of civilian activities such as IP VPN networks and Airborne Internet.
