WIRL—Wireless Integrated Routing Link

WIRL provides communications fault tolerance to shipboard control networks. WIRL automatically detects wired control-network failures and repairs these failures by routing control-network data over an IP-based wireless backup network. The software-based, fault-tolerant communication system provided by WIRL is being considered for integration in NSWC chilled-water and fire-suppression systems.
